Joy of Being

Being is the foundation of our existence.

Before a thought, emotion, identity or story about ourselves, there is the simple fact that we are. Joy of Being points to discovering that fact directly — not as a belief, but through self-investigation.

Explore the journey
The starting point

Before becoming, there is Being.

We usually experience life through the local agency of body, mind and emotions. The body senses and acts. The mind interprets. Emotions respond. Together they create our familiar sense of personal existence.

BE
Three dimensions of experience

Body. Mind. Consciousness.

Body

The changing physical instrument through which the world is experienced, situated in time and space.

Mind & Emotions

The changing movement of thought, memory, interpretation, feeling and reaction that gives meaning to experience.

Consciousness

The knowing of experience — that by which thoughts, emotions, sensations and circumstances are recognized.

The deeper inquiry

Everything we usually call “me” changes.

The body changes. Thoughts change. Emotions change. Circumstances change. Roles and identities change. Self-investigation asks: what is it that knows these changes?

01 · EXPERIENCE

Experience is present.

Something is happening right now — physically, mentally or emotionally.

02 · KNOWING

Experience is known.

The experience is appearing as something known.

03 · BEING

Investigate the knowing.

Rather than adding another concept, look directly at the awareness in which experience is known.

“The journey is not toward becoming someone else. It is toward discovering what is already present before the story of who you are.”

From many paths to one inquiry

Explore the experience. Then investigate the experiencer.

Vimal's journey through meditation, mindfulness, yoga, astrology, Vastu, numerology, graphology and contemplative inquiry revealed different lenses on body, mind, behaviour, patterns and circumstances. The deeper question remained: who is experiencing all of this?

The practical expression

Being is not an escape from life.

The recognition of Being can be brought into decisions, relationships, work, pressure and everyday experience. The aim is not to suppress thoughts or emotions, but to see them clearly as changing experiences and investigate what is aware of them.

Begin simply

Notice that you are. Then investigate what that means.

Joy of Being is an invitation to direct experience, self-inquiry and a simpler relationship with life.
